This past weekend me and a few friends from UCLA left Los Angeles and road tripped two hours inland to Indio, California for the Coachella Music and Arts Festival. Coachella is a three-day long festival with six stages of really talented live artists or DJ’s playing music at all times, a bunch of unique art pieces for festival-goers to look at, and tons of other fun things to do (like ride a Ferris wheel)! I had an amazing time seeing some of my favorite bands there like Phoenix, The Postal Service, Modest Mouse, Tegan and Sara, The Lumineers, and Vampire Weekend just to name a few (and really, just a FEW that were there- there were so many artists!). Besides all the great music and art that I got to experience, I also had a great time running into so many people I knew from UCLA at the festival! I ran into old floor-mates, Â sorority sisters, and tons of other people. When I didn’t see people I knew from LA, I saw so many people reppin’ their Bruin gear in Indio! There was definitely a good UCLA presence there which was great. Instead of staying at a nearby hotel or camping out (since we all know college students don’t have a ton of extra money), I stayed at my friend from campus’ house in Palm Springs about 20 minutes from the festival. This is just another reason why UCLA is so unique: because you get to meet so many people from so many different places! Overall, this weekend was so so fun and I cannot wait to go to Coachella again next year!
