Despite that I don’t have class on Fridays, I do schedule work and volunteering in the afternoon. Today is one of few rare Friday afternoons that are free of meetings and mandatory obligations so I have time to sit back and relax (which actually means “study”) or take a lazy stroll around Westwood to see what food and drink or movie catches my attention. Despite an ominously looming midterm next week, I decided it was time to set this afternoon apart from the rest of the busy week (and busy quarter) to have some down time for “self-renewal”, if you will. Stress can only be expelled by my own will, and now is as good of a time as any to do it so I can have a clear head for my midterm!
Of course, my relaxation entails more of a mental state than actions. I will still catch up on readings for the midterm, but in a nice aromatic coffee shop; I will continue to brainstorm answers for that Climatology assignment, but over a delicious breakfast quesadilla from Novel Cafe. The life of a college student 🙂
