Bruin Boredom Busters
Another incredibly useful website is www.tickets.ucla.edu. This website, linked with UCLA’s Central Ticket Office, provides information ranging from UCLA sporting events to UCLAlive, which “brings hundreds of outstanding music, dance, theater, and spoken word events from around the globe to Royce Hall and other venues each season.” Also included is information on the UCLA Department of World Arts and Cultures as well as upcoming special events. In addition, students can find out about discounts available for movie tickets, theme park tickets, and bus passes.
Of
course, being in the L.A. area provides a host of fun activities to participate
in. Movie premiers are a regular
occurrence in UCLA’s own Westwood Village.
The Hollywood Bowl and Pantages Theater are just minutes away. The beaches of Santa Monica and Venice are
only about 5 miles away and you can take the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus to and
from UCLA and the beach! While you’re in
Santa Monica be sure to visit the Third Street Promenade, and if you go to
Venice there’s always the Venice Boardwalk!
There is still a wide variety of things one could do from visiting
Miracle Mile, to going to the Getty Center, to catching a summer Dodger
game! It would be impossible to list all
the activities and events someone could participate in at UCLA and throughout
the Los Angeles area. Enjoy the rest of
your summer!!!
