(Most) Transfer Decisions Available!

Uars_group_5_032907_2As many of you know by now, transfer admission decisions are available online! On behalf of UARS, congratulations and welcome to all our admitted transfer students!  I know the wait was frustrating for a lot of you, but I hope it was worth it.

Some readers have expressed concern that not receiving their admission decision yet is an indication that they will not be admitted, and I want to assure you that this is not the case. A late notification has no bearing on/relationship to your admission decision, so please do not make an assumptions about your admission status at UCLA based on not receiving a decision yet. Don't listen to what your friends are saying; listen to me.

We try to release as many decisions as we can as early as we can, but our office has limited resources and only so many hours in a day, and unfortunately we cannot complete every application review in the timely matter we (and you) would like. For those of you who haven't received your decision yet, please keep checking back at the site; you should find out soon!

Admitted students: You have until June 2 to submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR), and if you have made changes to your academic program, or your academic performance has declined, you should go the New Bruins Website (https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/NewBruins/NSG_Transfer.htm) to fill out a Transfer Provisional Problem Form (here in the UCLA, Land O' Abbreviations, we say PPF) to notify our office as soon as possible.

I was wondering how you all go about making admission decisions for a student's second choice major. I wasn't accepted in my first choice so I'm waiting to see what happens with the second.

Thanks!

Will all decisions be out by April 30th, or will they roll out into May ?

What's the longest amount of time students have had to wait in the past for notifications following the initial release?

So when's the latest date that the rest of the transfer applicants get to know the final decisions?

How do I know under what basis I was rejected? How do I know if they didn't miscalculated my GPA or missed a class I took, or some other reason for rejection that I know is false? To whom can I ask these questions?

Can we get more information how we may find out about our second choice majors?

Thanks!

Is there any time frame that can be expected for transfer student's whose decisions have not yet been made?

I passeddd!!!!!! Thank you Stacy, thank you UCLA. I have one question for you: I am also waiting for other schools' answer before deciding which one to attend. However, I notice that the answer from other schools will be released only on June. Since I have to tell UCLA whether I accepted or not its offer of admission until June 2nd, I want to know if I can accept its offer right now and later change my mind to attend a different school. I am afraid of not accepting UCLA's offer because I want to wait for other schools' answer and eventually not being accepted by any of them. Therefore, having no school to transfer on Fall 2008.

Thank you,
Diego Campos

If you haven't received your decision yet, you should sometime very soon, probably early next week at the latest. We really do appreciate your patience and I can personally vouch for how hard people are working here to get all the applications evaluated.

Is there a reason why some transfer applicants are notified first and others later?

I got denied admission for Fall...could it be because I only finished 2 of the 3 preq. for my socioloyg major? is it worth appeal?

Thanks for all your hard work guys, it's been a nightmare for you to process that record number of applicants, I imagine! Luckily I got in (couldn't believe it when I got the provisional financial aid email, almost fell off my chair) to the HSSEAS as Computer Science major :). Now I'll be extremely happy for the longest time!!! It's great to see all the hard work pay off. I'm itching to get to know UCLA and take all advantage that I can of its awesome educational opportunities! Thanks again!

I counted 18 persons in the photo. Is that the entire admissions staff/evaluators of UCLA? I can't believe you guys processed so many applications...

I have a change in my academic schedule. I had a swimming class and changed it to counseling 20, which is a student success seminar class. This does not conflict with neither my major preqs nor my GE; I just thought that taking the counseling class would be more beneficial. I have been trying to log in to report my changes, but it keeps saying that there is no record of the information I put in. It's making me a little nervous because I dont want this to hinder my chances of getting admitted. I have tried calling but the lines are always busy and I have been disconnected a couple times. What can I do?

will the remainder of the results be posted next week? It has been a stressful week watching fellow students and friends get accepted...dont think I can take another week of this!!

I just want to thank Stacy and all others who helped us all through the grueling wait process. :] I got in as a political science major! Congrats to all who were admitted! :]

It's may 1st and I still haven't got my admission decision! Just wondering how long will it take before you guys send out the last batch of decisions?

It is now May 5th and I have yet to receive my admission decision. I would greatly appreciate some sort of update on when I can expect a decision. Everyone I know has already received their decisions and I just want to make sure I didn't slip through the cracks. Waiting patiently.......

Hello.

I got admitted, but I realized a wrong information in my application. It's a minor mistake but can be serious... Just One class grade was not actually A- but AB. The class was taken in another college long time ago. My current university recognized AB as A-. So I may have put the wrong one in the application. I'm sorry. Could you tell me whether you are going to reevaluate my application or just jeopardize it...? I'm sending the official transcript right now.
