THANK YOU, STACY! THANK YOU, UCLA! :)
Two questions though:
1.) When will the financial information be accessible?
2.) What happened to the admission rate this year?

Congratulations, New Bruin!
Once you have received the UCLA admission offer, please proceed to the following web site for the next step in your Bruin journey:
www.admissions.ucla.edu/NewBruins/NSG_Freshmen.htm.
This site will provide you with all the information you need, including financial aid information.
As far as the admission rate, UCLA received over 55,000 freshman applications for approximately 4,700 spots. This was certianly the most competitive year for applicants!

I AM SO EXCITED TO BE A BRUIN!!
Also, I searched the whole website for information about this, but I wasn't able to find it. I'm out-of-state and I was wondering if UCLA offers admitted students the opportunity to stay overnight in the dorms and/or sit in at lectures.
If so, who do I contact?

Hi,
I was just wondering, I submittied my FAFSA on around February 15th, but the UCLA website says that it hasn't received it yet. Should I be worried or does it take a few days?
Posted by: Sean | March 21, 2008 at 12:08 AM
Hey New Bruins-you understandably have a lot of questions and I will do my very best to either answer them or direct you to the office/department that can.
UCLA '12: Unfortunately, we do not have one specific overnight program in place for out-of-state students. However, if you wish to come to campus on your own, you can take a tour of the campus and residence halls, and sit in on a lecture to get a taste of the Bruin experience before you come here in the fall.
Sean: This is a question that is best directed to the good people in the Financial Aid Office. Their web address is:
www.fao.ucla.edu.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to join your student body!
I had just one questions about the overnight stay on campus. Is there one for in-state students? If so where do I get the Information?
Thanks

Sonam: Thank yourself! It's your hard work that earned the offer of admission. But you're welcome anyway. :) Sadly, there is no overnight stay offered to admitted students, in or out-of-state.

I'm so excited to have been accepted! I was kind of preparing myself for rejection because UCLA is so competitive and I'm an out of stater, but I'm so happy now! And I also submitted my fafsa on January 23 but UCLA said they havent received it. But I'm just gonna have to call financial aid I guess.

Hey, I am curious as to when transfer decisions will be released? Thanks
Posted by: transfer | March 25, 2008 at 04:11 PM
Yo Stacy, do you have any idea what day transfer decisions will be coming out? I'm going totally crazy waiting man.
Posted by: Scott | March 25, 2008 at 05:46 PM
Transfer applications are still being reviewed. The transfer decisions will be released in late April. Good luck to all transfer applicants!

For inquiries regarding financial aid, please check out the UCLA Financial Aid web site: www.fao.ucla.edu/.

AHHHHHH!! I'm still debating whether I should choose UCLA over USC. Stacy, PERSUADEEE MEEEE!! Pleaseeeee! I can't decideeee!
Posted by: Jannet Kim | March 26, 2008 at 08:56 PM
Okay I am not a freshman but a transfer student. What are the chances of transfer decisions being made before the middle of April?
Posted by: Wes | March 27, 2008 at 02:58 PM
I am also a transfer student and all I keep hearing is late April. Is there any sort of approximation that can be made? The waiting seems like its taking forever.

Congrats to all the new incoming admitted freshmen. I got rejected a few years back when I applied. Oh well I guess not many out of state students are accepted.

Jannet: Obviously, I'm biased towards UCLA, but this is a decision you have to make for yourself. Think about where you'll be the happiest and most successful, and trust your instincts. It sounds like you have some great options.

Transfer applicants, I know the wait is hard, but I cannot tell you when decisions will be released, other than to say it will be sometime in mid/late April. Hang tough my friends.

Hi Stacy,
I was accepted to UCLA, UCSD, UCI, and UCB and am in the impossible process of deciding. Part of my decision involves how the campus accepts general education courses from a community college, as I have already completed approximately 80 semester UC transferable units at a community college while concurrently being enrolled in high school. Will UCLA accept IGETSI from a high school student going into chemistry?
Posted by: Alana | March 30, 2008 at 09:38 AM
I checked online for the decision, and I got admitted. However, I haven't received my official acceptance letter or UCLA package. My friends who've been admitted have already received them, and they live in my area. Should I just wait for it to come? What should I do if it doesn't?

Hi! I applied to UCLA as a transfer student through TAP (Transfer Alliance Program). Is it possible to be offer a different major if I don't get into Biology(my first option)?
